{"id":20326,"date":"2021-04-20T11:16:55","date_gmt":"2021-04-20T06:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zardis.net\/news\/?p=20326"},"modified":"2021-04-20T11:16:55","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T06:46:55","slug":"zarif-insists-on-finalizing-preferential-trade-agreement-with-indonesia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zardis.net\/news\/en\/20326\/zarif-insists-on-finalizing-preferential-trade-agreement-with-indonesia\/","title":{"rendered":"Zarif insists on finalizing preferential trade agreement with Indonesia"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"summary\">TEHRAN &#8211; Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who visited Jakarta on Monday discussed trade and economic issues with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi.<\/p>\n<p>Zarif emphasized the importance of finalizing a preferential trade agreement between the two countries, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.<\/p>\n<p>The chief diplomat expressed Iran\u2019s readiness to continue negotiations, the ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSupporting the international law as well as exchanging views on the latest developments in the Afghanistan peace process were among other issues discussed in the meeting,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>The United States has said it will withdraw its last troops from Afghanistan in September.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the foreign ministers focused on joint efforts to overcome the coronavirus pandemic and accelerate economic recovery, the Associated Press reported.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit, Zarif also met Indonesian President Joko Widodo.<\/p>\n<p>Zarif praises Indonesia\u2019s \u201cvaluable support\u201d at UN<\/p>\n<p>Writing on his Twitter page, Zarif expressed joy over his visit to Jakarta, saying the talks focused on boosting ties and making close coordination on regional and international issues.<\/p>\n<p>Zarif also thanked Indonesia for its \u201cvaluable support\u201d in the UN Security Council when former U.S. President Donald Trump sought to \u201cundermine international law\u201d by pushing for ratification of a resolution against Iran.<\/p>\n<p>PA\/PA<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEHRAN &#8211; Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who visited Jakarta on Monday discussed trade and economic issues with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi.
