{"id":56334,"date":"2025-03-18T10:33:48","date_gmt":"2025-03-18T07:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zardis.net\/news\/?p=56334"},"modified":"2025-03-18T10:33:48","modified_gmt":"2025-03-18T07:03:48","slug":"trump-says-us-had-productive-discussions-with-putin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zardis.net\/news\/56334\/trump-says-us-had-productive-discussions-with-putin\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump says US had productive discussions with Putin"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>&#8220;We had very good and productive discussions with President Vladimir Putin of Russia yesterday, and there is a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end,&#8221; Trump said in a Truth Social post, adding that he had requested that Putin spare the lives of &#8220;completely surrounded&#8221; Ukrainian troops.<\/p>\n<p>US envoy Steve Witkoff had a long meeting with Putin in Moscow on Thursday night, a source briefed on the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.<\/p>\n<p>The Truth Social post did not say whether Trump and Putin had spoken to each other.<\/p>\n<p>However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin had used the meeting to convey &#8220;signals&#8221; to Trump through Witkoff.
