The regional contact committee was a very important and influential process, Kazemi Qomi said.

He added that the Afghans’ security and a process that can ensure security, stability, and welfare for the Afghan people is a common issue considered by these countries, he added.

A two-day meeting on Afghanistan’s situation hosted by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres opened in Doha on Sunday. Special envoys to Afghanistan were present at the meeting, but no Taliban representative attended the event.
