International » FM Amir-Abdollahian stresses strengthening ties with Niger

Iran’s newly-appointed ambassador to Niger, Ali Tiztak, has met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian before his departure on the diplomatic mission to the African country.

During the meeting on Sunday, Tiztak exchanged views with Amir-Abdollahian and also presented a report on his mission, and discussed plans to enhance and promote bilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Niger.

Iran’s top diplomat, for his part, emphasized the need to develop all-out relations with the Republic of Niger, especially in political and economic fields.

Pointing to the serious will of the government of President Ebrahim Raeisi to boost bilateral relations and cooperation with the African continent, Amir-Abdollahian stressed the need to follow up on agreements and programs in this regard, including the holding of joint economic commissions between Iran and Niger.

Before taking the appointment as an envoy for Niger, Tiztak served the Islamic Republic in different positions in the past.

He served as the head of the Caspian Sea Secretariat, the deputy of the Iranian Embassy in Turkmenistan and the deputy of the First Department of the Commonwealth and the Caucasus as well as served Iran’s missions in Moscow and Kiev.
