Mohammad Reza Aref, Iran’s First Vice President, met with President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan on Thursday evening and expressed satisfaction over the growing volume of trade between the two countries. He affirmed that there are no obstacles to further developing Tehran-Dushanbe ties.

Aref referred to the deep-rooted civilizational, cultural, historical, and linguistic bonds between Iran and Tajikistan and emphasized Iran’s full readiness to jointly cooperate in establishing and strengthening scientific and research centers, academies, and advancing collaborations in science, culture, and technology.

Calling Tajikistan a friendly and brotherly nation, Aref highlighted the Iranian president’s recent visit to Dushanbe, stating that President Pezeshkian often recalls the beautiful city, its hospitality, and the achievements of the trip with fondness.

He also conveyed President Pezeshkian’s warm and heartfelt greetings to President Rahmon, adding that the people of both nations always feel at home in each other’s countries.

President Rahmon, for his part, welcomed the growing cooperation and stressed the importance of the swift implementation of signed agreements. He noted that visa waiver policies have significantly boosted tourism and underlined the importance of honoring shared civilizational and historical traditions.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with their mutual support and cooperation in regional and international forums.
