Iranian Ambassador to Georgia Mahmoud Adib met with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili at the end of his mission to that country.

During the meeting, Shalva Papuashvili praised Mahmoud Adib’s services in developing relations during his mission in Georgia, and said: “We are aware of your valuable efforts in strengthening relations. We are pleased that during the recent tensions in the South Caucasus, you, as the Iranian ambassador, managed relations well.”

He said that Georgia’s policy is peace and stability in the region, adding: “We hope that by establishing security, the basis for cooperation with Iran will be provided more than ever. The people of the two countries have a rich civilization and cultural heritage, and this history has a great capacity to strengthen human values. Unlike some countries, Iranians have proven the maturity and maturity necessary to overcome crises.”

The Iranian ambassador also appreciated the Georgian Parliament Speaker’s perspective and called Iran’s policy in the Caucasus one of maintaining peace and respecting territorial integrity.

Adib considered the role of parliaments in consolidating interests important and mentioned the abolition of visas as a sign of the will of both sides.

He emphasized the development of parliamentary diplomacy and the exchange of friendship delegations and, referring to Georgia’s immigration laws, called for preserving the honor and dignity of Iranians in this country.
