Speaking to reporters after attending a regular cabinet meeting on Wednesday at the Presidential Compound, Mohammad Eslami, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) reacted to the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi’s recent remarks, saying that “These statements show that Grossi is playing a role on enemy’s court.”
Referring to last night’s UN Security Council meeting and the points raised in it, the AEOi head said, “We can no longer say that the points raised in this meeting are regrettable. Rather, we should be happy that the role and pressure that the Americans have exerted on Iran’s nuclear industry over the past 25 years has become completely clear today. In their National Security Strategy document, they clearly wrote that they will not pursue American interests through international organizations, and that the law of the jungle and force will continue to be on their agenda.”
He stressed that “Resolution 2231 has expired,” as the Russian and Chinese envoys confirmed in the last night’s UNSC meeting.
“Our nuclear activities are totally peaceful,” he underscored.
