Ghalibaf asked God Almighty for al-Halbousi and the other Iraqi lawmakers success and the Iraqi nation’s pride, peace, and progress.

The Iranian speaker said the al-Halbousi’s election reflects the trust of the respected representatives of the Iraqi nation in the experiences, capabilities, and effective role of His Excellency in strengthening the legislative process and consolidating the stability and progress of the friendly and neighboring country.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq enjoy deep historical, cultural, religious, and social ties, and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries plays an important role in developing bilateral relations and securing the common interests of the nations,” he underscored.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s parliament is fully prepared to take effective steps to deepen parliamentary relations, strengthen Islamic unity, and expand regional security and stability through interaction, dialogue, and close cooperation with the Iraqi parliament,” Ghalibaf further wrote.
